Overview of Scott Full Suspension Mountain Bikes

Scott's full suspension range is almost manageable compared to other manufacturers. With the Spark, Genius, Ransom, and Gambler, there are four model series tailored to different rider types and terrain requirements. In addition, there are different wheel sizes, equipment variants, and Contessa versions specially designed for women. We provide you with an overview of the most important differences and the most popular innovations of the sporty bicycle manufacturer from Switzerland.

If you're an active mountain biker, you'll know what bike you need. Should it be less suspension travel and a light frame for high performance or maximum suspension for the best control on the steepest descents? For mountain biking beginners, it's recommended to start with a scott hardtail or buy a versatile full suspension bike that covers a wide range of uses. But if you know exactly what you're looking for, you'll find the right equipment among Scott's full suspensions.

Type Question: Which Scott Full Suspension Do You Need?

For cross-country racers, only one thing counts: speed. Here, it comes down to performance and a lightweight frame, preferably made of carbon. The suspension travel of 100mm to 120mm is adequate to pass forest paths and flat trails at maximum speed. The Scott full suspension Spark RC fits in perfectly here with an extremely light frame and aggressive geometry. If cross-country is too boring and you want to make trails less safe, you should go for the Scott Genius. Fast, comfortable and ready for technically challenging descents is the trail bike - the first choice for all who want a Scott full suspension for all purposes. The suspension travel is between 130 and 150mm. The next level is the Ransom, which acts as a thoroughbred enduro and closes the gap to the Gambler in downhill areas.

If you're a freerider and want to shred in a bike park, the Voltage is the perfect tool for you. Whether it's jumps, drops or steep curves - the bike with up to 190mm of suspension manages everything. The icing on the cake is the Gambler: a no-compromise downhill weapon that offers you the best chances in races. With World Cup features, deep geometry and even longer damper, anything is possible when going downhill. The best thing about the Scott downhill full suspensions: The bikes delivered with 27.5" wheels can be easily converted to 26" wheels.

Equipment Variants and Women's Models

Between downhill and trail is the currently very popular enduro segment, which Scott has improved for with their Genius. The Genius LT comes with adjusted geometry and increased suspension travel for more control on downhill segments in enduro races. Women also get to enjoy Scott's full suspensions. The Contessa models offer women-specific components such as saddle, handles and handlebars, as well as an adapted geometry to ensure a more comfortable riding position. The Scott Sparks and Genius are currently available as Contessa variants.

Once you've found the right model range for off-road fun, your dream bike is not far off. The Scott full suspensions are categorized into two series, the 700 and 900, which refer to the wheel size (27.5 and 29). In these series, the equipment variant is then ranked, with 700 or 900 representing the top model. Beginner models are, for example, the 750 or 760. While the Spark and the Genius are available in both 700 and 900 variants, the Voltage and Gambler are only available with 27.5" wheels. A plus sign in the name indicates the plus version of a bike, which offers more traction on the trail with wider tires.
